3D Printing Talent Needed in Education and Manufacturing

Advancements in 3D printing continue to be made. These developments have the power to transform industries, production, economies, and lives. Noting the importance of 3D printing trends, we’ve been tracking hiring demand for 3D printing and additive manufacturing skills.

Currently, there are over 1,000 job openings requiring candidates with these skills. There were 61% more job ads posted online in January 2015 when compared to January 2014.

Of the sectors with the greatest need for 3D printing/additive manufacturing talent, manufacturing had the highest number of job ads. Despite having the most job openings, demand in the manufacturing sector was down 27% year-over-year. Professional, scientific, and technical services sector, as well as the educational services sector also accounted for a large portion of demand.
