3D Printing Event welcomes CECIMO as Content Partner

About Cecimo
Cecimo is the European Association representing the common interests of the Machine Tool Industries globally and at EU level. We bring together 15 National Associations of machine tool builders, which represent approximately 1300 industrial enterprises in Europe (EU + EFTA + Turkey), over 80% of which are SMEs.

CECIMO covers 98% of total Machine Tool production in Europe and about 36% worldwide. It accounts for almost 150,000 employees and a turnover of more than €24 billion in 2016. Approximately 75% of CECIMO production is shipped abroad, whereas around half of it is exported outside Europe.

CECIMO assumes a key role in determining the strategic direction of the European machine tool industry and promotes the development of the sector in the fields of economy, technology and science.

About 3D Printing Event

On April 16-17, 2019, Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Sittart-Geleen will host a two-day event that covers the whole 3d printing / AM value chain from design to end product with four dedicated conferences:

April 16:

3D Printing Materials ConferenceFocus topics: Polymers (New materials) | Application of polymers in 3D Printing (from standard to high quality / high risk) | Multi material 3D Printing

3D Printing Design & Engineering Conference – Focus topics: 3D design & 3D engineering tools / Visualisation tools | Value Engineering / Virtual Engineering | Topology Optimization | Validation | IP, liability, legal and technical issues | Reverse engineering | Postprocessing / AMES (Additive Manufacturing Execution Systems) / (MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) | Blockchain

April 17:

3D Printing Post-Processing Conference – Focus topics: Various aspects related to the often overlooked third step in 3D printing: post-processing. The talks will cover issues, solutions and future trends.

AM Integrated Factory Conference – Focus topics: Use of Hybrid manufacturing (systems where additive and subtractive manufacturing are combined in the same machine) | Implemention of AM systems as part of an end-to-end production workflow ( including: material handling systems, multiple additive manufacturing systems, part handling systems, part cleaning systems) | Implementation of AM systems in the ‘traditional’ production processes

And forward looking into the future: 4D Printing & Meta Materials Conference, April 17

This event is organised by Jakajima. For a complete list of upcoming conferences and events, we invite you to visit https://www.jakajima.eu/events/list/

CECIMO partner of the 3D Printing Material Conference in Maastricht next January

Additive manufacturing technologies embrace multiple applications, spread across a very wide user base. The ongoing development of new materials impacts on the quality of end products, opens new markets and has a positive influence on the price level of materials used. The future development of the sector will depend on the type and the quality of materials responding to the needs of each application. Seminar Challenges in Business, Regulation and Law, 21 October, 13:30 – 17:00

The debate surrounding 3D printing is forcing legislators and regulators to rethink a broad range of legal issues, from patents and copyrights to liability and certification and standardisation. So how can we best achieve that laws and regulations effectively enable the unprecedented and sheer unlimited possibilities offered by 3D printing and additive manufacturing? Regulatory issues are becoming more and more of a pressing concern for companies and experts involved with 3D printing and additive manufacturing. In Europe it is clear that regulatory issues related to 3D printing will be high on the agenda of the Parliament and Commission.

But how will this affect the industry, and what does it mean for the business opportunities and challenges? This seminar will give you answers on questions around these aspects.

The following speakers will share their experience with the audience:

  • Moderator: Dimmes Doornhein, among others CTO, Louwers IP|Technology Advocaten and supervisory director Aureus Analytics
  • “Reprinting the law: paradigm shifts and concerns in supply chain, warranties, liabilities and IP”, Ernst Jan Louwers, Founding partner, attorney-at-law & entrepreneur at Louwers IP|Technology Advocaten
  • “The road towards mass adoption.” Ties Rijkers, Revelator, Revelating
  • Dr. Ludmila Striukova, Senior Lecturer, University College London.
  • “Economic Policy & Regulation for 3D Printing.” Thierry Rayna, Professor of Economics, Novancia Business School Paris.
  • Giorgio Magistrelli, 3D Printing Project Manager, CECIMO (European Association of the Machine Tool Industries)
  • “Maker versus market.” Tal Erez, Founder, fellow, Het Nieuwe Instituut
  • “Business models.” Sam Van Dormael, Business Development Manager, Materialise.
