Fused filament fabrication (FFF) is a very versatile AM technique, although it is widely used for prototyping due to their limited mechanical properties, especially in between layers. To approach this matter, a novel technique was developed in which the strength in between layers was increased in 184%, which results in stronger parts.

On December 4, 2018, Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Sittard-Geleen hosted two half-day conferences focused on Additive Manufacturing.

In the morning, during 3D Printing Post-Processing Conference, speakers from ION, AMT, Quintus Technologies, PostProcess Technologies and Fraunhofer IPT talked about various aspects related to the often overlooked third step in 3D printing: post-processing. Read more

On December 4, 2018, Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Sittard-Geleen hosted two half-day conferences focused on Additive Manufacturing.
In the morning, during 3D Printing Post-Processing Conference, speakers from ION, AMT, Quintus Technologies, PostProcess Technologies and Fraunhofer IPT talked about various aspects related to the often overlooked third step in 3D printing: post-processing.

The talks covered issues, solutions and future trends. The presentation titles included: What kind of Surface Technology is asked for 3D-Metal-Printed items | Finishing the Job – Automated Post Processing for 3D Printed Parts | Digitized 3D Post-Printing to Enable Additive Manufacturing at Scale | Shortening the post processing chain though use of high pressure heat treatment | Advanced Manufacturing with 3D printing – Process chains of tomorrow.

In the afternoon, AM Integrated Factory Conference focused on current developments in further integration of Additive Manufacturing in production processes. Speakers from Siemens Industry Software, Sirris, TNO, Authentise and AM-Flow talked about Industrial AM for functional parts, Industrializing Additive Manufacturing, Scaling up 3D printing production with automated sorting, to mention only a few presentation titles.

2018

On April 17-18, 2018, Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Sittard-Geleen (NL), hosted a two-day event about 3D printing materials, 3D printing design and 4D printing. The event comprised three conferences and an exhibition.
On April 17, the 3D Printing Materials Conference and the 3D Printing Design & Engineering Conference took place in parallel. The first was about polymers and plastics, the latter about the process behind the printing itself (virtual engineering, tools, blockchain, etc).


2016

The 2nd edition of the 3D Printing Design & Engineering conference took place on May 24, 2016 at Designhuis in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

The conference was successful, bringing together over 60 participants, and provided great intellectual and social interaction for the attendees.

Renowned speakers from Shapeways, Fraunhofer IPT, Philips Industry Consulting, TNO, ShareMy3D, iMinds, Louwers IP|Technology Advocaten, EDS Innovation, Metal Technics and Sirris shared their views and opinions on 3D printing design and engineering topics.

The 4th edition of the 3D Printing Materials Conference, focused on Polymers, took place on February 02, 2017, at Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Sittard-Geleen, The Netherlands. At the same location, on February 01, the 4D Printing & Meta Materials Conference was held.

The conferences brought together over 150 attendees, who gathered to discuss the most disruptive applications of 3D printing and latest developments and applications in the field. They were not purely academic conferences, but innovative events bringing together brilliant minds and discoveries.


2016

On January 26-27, 2016, the 3rd edition of the 3D Printing Materials Conference took place at MECC Maastricht, in The Netherlands. The conference was successful, attracting many international delegates and provided great intellectual and social interaction for the participants. International leading speakers from renowned companies and institutions such as Harvard University, University of Wollongong, Technical University of Eindhoven, Corbion Purac Biomaterials, Innovation Centre of Polymers, SIRRIS, ACAM GmbH (Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing), SupraPolix, 3D PPM, VU University Medical Center Amsterdam, Applied Polymer Innovations/Innofil3D, Z3DLab, FOM Institute AMOLF, LUXeXceL Group, 3DCeram and Vormvrij shared their knowledge during the two-day conference.
