David Huson, University of the West of England presents about 3D Printed Ceramics

David Huson, Senior Research Fellow at University of the West of England, presents at the 3D Printing Materials Conference: “3D Printed Ceramics for Design Concept and Bespoke Production”.

The Centre for Fine Print Research at the University of the West of England has been researching 3D printed ceramics for powder/binder 3D printers for over seven years.

This presentation will track the course of this research which has resulted in a patented 3D printable ceramic, industrial and artistic collaborations and a spin-out company formed to provide a commercial bureau, Argillasys, for 3D printed ceramics.

David Huson is a Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Fine Print Research at the University of the West of England in Bristol. Having worked for over 25 years in the U.K. ceramic industry, he is currently researching 3D printed ceramics, photo ceramics and the use of digital fabrication techniques for Art/Crafts, Designer/Maker ceramics and industrial applications. In 2011he was awarded the Saxby medal by the Royal Photographic Society for his work on 3D imaging.
